Application Maintenance & Support

 

Application and Software Developers are responsible for the design, development, and implementation of applications that enable MetLife to provide the best products and services to our internal and external customers. Associate Software Development Engineers may gain exposure to the following, depending on their specified role and team:

  • Software Development Life Cycle including: requirements analysis, development, testing
  • Development languages such as: Java, HTML, .NET or C#
  • Mainframe development
  • Mobile application development
  • IT Architecture (SOA), standards, procedures and policies

 

Testing Analysts  ensure quality assurance and control via testing of application and infrastructure changes. The overall group is responsible for testing to ensure delivered code or infrastructure changes meet quality standards and end-user requirements. They are responsible for the compliance of the testing component of the end-to-end system development life cycle process.

  • Designs and documents testing and results
  • Basic and may include multiple applications
  • Assists team as individual contributor

 

Application Maintenance & Support   maintains applications in the production environment and identifies and implements solutions to optimize operating efficiency of production systems and processes.

  • Assists in day-to-day production management activities including the investigation and resolution of incidents, problems, service requests and working assigned queues – general supervision
  • Assists with break-fix coding and/or scripting and maintains records to document break-fix code changes
  • Assists in gathering of metrics and data analysis around performance and cost

 

Requirements:

  • Ability to commence in June 2019
  • Completed a minimum of a Level 8 Bachelor's degree program at an accredited college/university
  • Students academically involved in computer science, information technology, information systems, computer engineering, math, business administration, or related field
  • Less than 12 months working experience within the IT area

  • Excellent problem solving and analysis skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Relevant campus involvement, work experience, and/or community service experience
