Role Value Proposition: 

 

This position is accountable for the maintenance of a robust internal control environment for SII GL and XBRL reporting purposes.  This role works with in-country and regional staff as well as functional teams and Global Finance Systems (GFS).

 

This is a permanent role and reports to the Solvency II Production Manager .

    

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Maintaining a strong control environment - ensuring daily/monthly & quarterly controls are completed:
    • Monitoring batch recycle or journals not posted.
    • Monitoring GL reconciliations between Solvency II and USGAAP PeopleSoft.
    • Review of FX processes in GL.
    • Data validation checks pre-close.
  • Working closely with Global Finance Systems (GFS) team to resolve system issues impacting EMEA region.
  • Statistical data capture and reporting for close period review and Operational Level Agreement reporting.
  • Assisting local, functional and analysis teams with production related queries/requests/issues.
  • Representing EMEA production team on corporate initiatives projects impacting EMEA financial data.
  • Ensure the defined QMR and XBRL processes are delivered as per the close calendar and to the correct quality for quarterly, annual and resubmission closes.

 

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • Issue resolution experience.
  • Demonstrated good understanding of system controls.                                                 
  • Global Corporate Company finance experience.
  • Knowledgeable of financial reporting IT infrastructure.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills  including presenting concise summaries of systems issues.                                                                               
  • Confident in liaising with stakeholders from different areas and geographical locations.   
  • Track record in identifying and completing process improvements.         

 

Preferred:

  •  An understanding of currency revaluation and translation principles
  •  Controller environment experience
  •  SII reporting experience
