Role Value Proposition: 

The Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team play an key role in developing the organisation’s financial plan & projections. The FP&A team support the business by validating that the organisation’s strategic goals and objectives are achievable from a financial point of view.


The Europe FP&A team benchmark the on-going success of the business by leading projection processes that consolidate and analyse key financial and reporting metrics. Europe FP&A are responsible for providing accurate, timely and high quality financial analysis on business performance to Executive leadership teams both locally and globally.


The role holder will support the Head of Europe FP&A in preparing consolidated expense budgets for Europe (UK, Ireland, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Slovakia, Hungary, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Bulgaria  Romania, Poland, Greece, Ukraine and Russia). The role holder will analyse both actual & projected results and present these in a way that supports Executive-level decision making. The role holder is also expected to support the Head of Europe FP&A and Europe FP&A Manager in opportunities for standardisation and simplification of plan and projection processes across Europe.


Key Responsibilities: 

  • Manage the collection and analysis of Europe consolidated operating expenses, explaining key variances on expense by type/business function.
  • Liaise closely with functional leads across the region, assisting them in understanding their expense base and in agreeing final budget numbers. 
  • Maintain models for use in expense allocations, and reporting.
  • Work and communicate closely with other team members and key stakeholders to solve issues e.g.  the wider Europe FP&A team, EMEA FP&A, Europe Executive Leadership teams.
  • Support the implementation of new systems (Workforce planning, and cloud based budgeting solutions)
  • Identify areas for simplification and automation of existing processes.
  • Participate and assist the FP&A Manager with ad-hoc financial initiatives and projects.


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • Qualified Accountant with minimum 3-5 yrs PQE.
  • Strong analytical capability, with the ability to identify key trends in financial data.
  • Previous experience in expense analysis or budgeting would an advantage.
  • Strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills.
  • Experience of Hyperion planning / Global budgeting a distinct advantage.
  • Experience of working in multi-currency environment, with exposure to transfer pricing processes.
  • Comfortable with developing Excel-based models to support business cases and planning scenarios.
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and oral with the ability to explain key financial data to both finance and non-finance people so that issues are understood quickly and stakeholders are suitably engaged.
  • High level of personal drive and enthusiasm and ability to work under pressure with tight timeline.
