Role Value Proposition: 

This position serves as an employee relations subject matter expert and is responsible for receiving, managing, resolving, and documenting complex employee relations inquiries and issues, and for conducting investigations into associate complaints. This position will also serve as a point of contact for the HR Business Partners and other HR COEs in EMEA.

    

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support and consult on complex ER inquiries and issues through the informed application of company policies, programs, procedures, and local laws.
  • Conduct and document thorough and impartial investigations into associate complaints following established processes and ER Documentation guidelines.
  • Provide guidance and direction to HR Business Partners and People Leaders in the handling of complex employee matters, including disciplinary recommendations, associated documentation, and preparation for employee conversations.
  • Contributes to the analysis of ER data and trends in EMEA and Asia
  • Facilitate training to associates and managers in support of employee relations strategy and to address trend concerns.
  • Represent EMEA/Asia in the Global HR Policy Governance Committee to monitor implementation of new global HR policies/proposed changes and to track implications of emerging policy trends and topics
  • Consult, advise and provide best practice solutions to ER peers, HR Business Partners and business management on interpretation and implementation of company policies and programs in EMEA and Asia.
  • Conduct regular review of ER policies in EMEA/Asia to ensure compliance with applicable laws, government regulations, other internal processes /practices and external benchmarking best practices.
  • Serve as a custodian of key HR policies for EMEA and Asia
  • Leads or assist in projects representing Employee Relations, including but not limited to working on enterprise-wide project teams with internal partners;
  • Collaborate with internal partners (e.g., HRBP, IT, Compliance, SIU) as appropriate.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

 

  • 10+ years of practical experience in managing ER/HR policies
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Strong knowledge in HR-related laws in EMEA and Asia countries, especially well versed in employment laws, data privacy laws, and equal opportunities laws; Sufficient knowledge in legal language, and capable of understanding and precisely interpreting HR related laws for management decision
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply policies and regulations to a wide variety of situations in the business environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct formal investigations involving all levels of interaction and providing appropriate recommendations to senior business leaders.
  • Ability to establish credibility, build rapport and create trust in a virtual setting.
  • Excellent consultative, listening, and verbal/written communication skills; ability to influence, negotiate and convey recommendations and opinions persuasively.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage sensitive, emotional and confidential situations in a composed, discrete and professional manner.
  • Strong organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to prioritize and use time effectively and efficiently, while shifting frequently between multiple priorities and business requirements simultaneously.
