Role Value Proposition: 

Employee benefits professional specializing in STD, LTD, Statutory, Absence, and ADAAA.  This role will focus on consulting with industry broker/consulting firms and MetLife’s National Account and Regional Market Group customers.  Specific areas of focus include plan design and strategy, integrated disability management solutions and benchmarking/trend analysis.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for consultative support of multiple complex clients, provides clients with alternative solutions to requests and identify possible plan design alternatives, acts as a liaison between the client and internal MetLife teams
  • Works with the Disability Sales Support, Product Development team and Sales partners on the preparation of RFPs and delivery of the claim process at Customer Finalist meetings; supports implementation of new complex clients and additional MetLife product lines to existing clients
  • Supports the creation of client specific processes and reports; may engage in the review of contract documents, provides support of MetLife systems setup
  • Engages with Key Partners (Sales, Service, Finance, Claims) to develop, analyze and provide metrics and reporting to monitor the health of customers and their Disability and Absence plans
  • Serves as a key resource and may serve as a subject matter expert to Customer Unit and National Accounts; provides ongoing communications and updates to account teams and customers on industry trends, benchmarking, or regulatory activities                                                                        
  • Assists in the development of effective solutions to meet the Customers’ expectations and needs; provides expertise on reporting, RTW, claim process, letters, as well as provide oversight of plan design and structure
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • 5+ years Disability Management experience required, including knowledge of other Employee Benefit programs (e.g., Workers Compensation, Life Insurance) and relevant Federal and State Laws
  • Strong knowledge of current process and technology in place to support the existing Disability Customers
  • Ability to balance client expectations with MetLife capabilities and work autonomously, effectively handle multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines appropriately and remain flexible; self-motivated to learn more about the business and is proactive in personal development

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong project management skills including problem solving, attention to detail, analytical thinking, and decisiveness; excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal

The wage range for applicants for this position is 59,600 to 81,400. This role is also eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation.
