The Role: This position will be responsible for oversight of MetLife Pet Insurance’s compliance and overall product evolution.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Define the MetLife compliance function
  • Define and develop processes for compliance oversight across key functional areas
  • Review existing product portfolio and identify additional controls and processes required (e.g. licensure)
  • Monitor ongoing developments in the Pet Insurance regulatory landscape
  • Identify and prioritize key initiatives to meet product compliance
  • Collaborate with technology product owners, legal and other functional partners to lead end to end execution of key compliance initiatives
  • Lead compliant response, appeals and cancellations
  • Participate in underwriting and actuarial audits
  • Maintain and evolve the MetLife Pet Insurance product
  • Collaborate with channel leaders to capture new product needs and develop product roadmap
  • Partner with Contracts, Legal, Finance and Actuary teams to file product enhancements across the US and launch into new jurisdictions (e.g. PR)
  • Lead the launch of the MetLife Pet Exotics Coverage across 51 jurisdictions in collaboration with technology product owners, contracts, and actuary
  • Mentors/educates colleagues on marketplace trends and insights and channel guidelines
  • Provide ongoing reporting and updates to Pet leadership team


Key Relationships:

  • Reports to: CEO, Pet Insurance
  • Direct Reports: 1 to 2
  • Key stakeholders: Pet Leadership Team, Legal, Actuary, Contracts, Government Relations, US Group Compliance, Finance and Operations.


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience across sales, business development
  • Strong business acumen with business development and sales experience
  • Exemplary client management and relationship skills
  • Deep knowledge of Pet Insurance
  • Knowledge of Animal Welfare, Humane Societies and Shelters (strongly preferred)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Excel modeling, PowerPoint, and Word
  • Excellent negotiation skills, detail-oriented and persuasive.

The wage range for this position is $118,400 to $157,900. This role is also eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. MetLife offers a comprehensive benefits program, including healthcare benefits, life insurance, retirement benefits, parental leave, legal plan services and paid time off. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
