Role Value Proposition: 

Financial Manager – National Accounts provides financial support and reporting for very large group insurance clients. Works with account team to manage customer relationships and satisfaction.

 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Responsibility for providing the overall financial analysis and reporting for National Accounts customers.
  • Leads and manages a team of people to ensure high customer satisfaction and profitable persistency; Attends client meetings where appropriate; Provides oversight to team to ensure on-going partnership with Administrative Team throughout Implementation Process.
  • Leads and/or provides strategic guidance for Customer reporting.
  • Ensures timely, accurate and consultative financial analysis is delivered to National Accounts customers; Manages team to deliver Standard and Ad Hoc Customer Reports, including Financial Accounting and Annual Financial Reporting; Oversight of Board Reporting, Earnings Analysis and other Strategic Measure Reporting; Manages monthly and quarterly premium billing for assigned customer base and monthly banking requirements; Oversight of Financial Performance Guarantee Reporting; Reviews and approves Financial Dividends for submission to FCS; Manages financial audit review process/procedures for assigned customer base; Manages process documentation (global and customer specific) that correlate to the Financial Team.
  • Manages the Financial Consultants documentation per current established standards. Financial Manager to oversee any audits of these processes as requested.
  • Manages staff of 10 Financial Consultants. Establishes both group and individual performance objectives, expectations and measures.
  • Responsible for process improvement, developmental assignments, coaching and day-to-day management. Secures the right resources to accomplish objectives.
  • Motivates staff with appropriate recognition and feedback.
  • Establishes, encourages and builds strong business relationships with other appropriate groups.
  • Develops tactical plan to support strategic direction of National Accounts Customer Unit. Manages complex internal and external projects, assigns staff to projects that support business objectives and allow for associate development.
  • Responsible for the following product knowledge: Life, dental, disability, voluntary benefits and PRB.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned or required.

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • 10+ years of experience
  • Strong leadership skills; ability to lead, develop and motivate a team.
  • Extensive experience managing complex client accounts and relationships.
  • Strong understanding and experience with financials, accounting and audits.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage time efficiently in order to meet client deadlines.
  • Strong project management skills including problem solving, attention to detail, analytical thinking and decisiveness.
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of benefit plan administration and contracts.
  • Self-motivated to learn more about the business and assist team members in personal development.

 

Preferred:

  • BS/BA degree preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of MetLife’s group products, services and systems and ability to strategically analyze the interaction of these products, services and systems.
