Role Value Proposition:

Consults with actuarial, legal, sales, marketing, underwriting, claims and administrative staff to identify product specifications and issue requirements in connection with product development, product updates, and changes in insurance laws and regulations.  Consults on the creation of language to issue approved contract forms and products.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Drafts and creates new group insurance policy forms, in collaboration with business partners, to develop institutional insurance policies and related forms for complex and/or hybrid insurance products.
  • Works with sales and implementation teams to develop customer specific contracts and secures all necessary state approvals.  
  • Analyzes contracts and reviews applicable laws and regulations to determine variations in forms, laws, and legal requirements; negotiates with state insurance department regarding form approval.
  • Establishes and maintains good working relationships with state insurance departments regarding form approval.
  • May assist senior management in analyzing proposed and enacted laws and regulations to identify required compliance activities.


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:



  • New hires should live a commutable distance from the site the role is posted in
  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 3+ years of business-related experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  •  Must have ability to work cross-functionally with peers and leaders from various lines of business as well as external agencies
  • Ability to effectively analyze and synthesize complex information



  • J.D. a plus, but not required
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Word skills
