MetLife’s call center IT is looking for an experienced Lead Software Development Engineer to work in a specialized role in call center systems. The candidate will work with CRM systems and is expected to have experience in developing end to end technical solutions to solve complex business problems. The candidate will be responsible for the design, development and implementation of applications following the full systems development lifecycle (SDLC), primarily focusing on solutions built on the Salesforce platform.  In addition, the candidate will own driving the team as a whole to best practices in the areas of DevOps, Continuous Integration, and Salesforce Development, making sure our team is in alignment with strategic initiatives and industry standards.

  

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establishes, communicates and drives a complex set of integrations between MetLife SOR’s and the digital Platform. 
  • Monitors operating efficiency of existing application systems.  
  • Work closely with the Enterprise Architecture team to ensure the solution & design are is in alignment with MetLife IT roadmap when required 
  • Responsible for detailed technical design and development of applications using existing and emerging technology platforms, with primary focus on Salesforce.
  • Will have customer interaction, partnering with related lines of business and stakeholder relations.
  • Converts specifications about business problems into programming instructions.
  • Designs and codes programs; creates test transactions and runs tests; revises as necessary; conducts analysis of organizational needs and goals for the development and implementation of application systems.  Monitors operating efficiency of existing application systems. 
  • Reviews, analyzes, and modifies programming systems, including encoding, testing, debugging and installing for a large-scale system.  Maintains records to document program development and revisions. 
  • Provides technical support to technical vendor resources.  As appropriate; designs and codes business process models; designs and codes business rules and algorithms.  Performs related duties as assigned or requested.
  • Reviews work products from team and vendor consultants.
  • Lead a team of developers from a technical standpoint throughout all phases of the SDLC while simultaneously making individual development contributions.

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required, prefer major in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
  • 5+ years of related work experience with SDLC
  • 5+ years of strong hands-on experience in Salesforce development
  • 7+ years’ experience in Software Development and strong technical experience with building enterprise scale applications.
  • Proven CI/CD (GitHub/BitBucket/UCD/SonarQube/Azure DevOps), Agile experience to ensure that project is following established CI practices to promote efficiency.
  • Salesforce Certificate in Platform App Builder

Preferred:

  • Salesforce Certificate in Platform Developer I
  • Experience with Vlocity Platform
  • Experience in Salesforce Service Cloud
  • Technical experience with integrating on-premise solutions with  cloud-based solution
