Role Value Proposition: 

As part of the Data Center Hardware team, this role will manage the physical floor space in one of MetLife’s Global Data Centers primarily supporting the Americas region.  The individual will work closely with Engineering, Facilities, and Operations teams in planning for and coordinating installation and removal of physical hardware including power and cabling.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage short and long term floor space plans.
  • Coordinate installation and removal activities, ensuring proper procedures are followed and all vendors are escorted.
  • Consult regularly with counterparts at other MetLife data centers and provide support as needed.
  • Regularly inspect floor space and physical hardware for any improper configuration or abnormalities.  Ensure data center areas are kept clean and organized.
  • Provide tours of data center areas for customer assessors, auditors and visitors.
  • Responsible for the coordination of receiving and preparation for the shipping of hardware
  • Responsible for the coordination of the implementation of power, cable, fiber, etc.


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:


  • 8+ years of experience working in a large-scale data center environment.
  • Strong understanding of computer infrastructure hardware needs and requirements (power/cooling).
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.


  • Experience using AutoCAD or other tools to document and plan physical datacenter layouts and hardware.
  • Experience managing and operationally supporting large scale datacenter environments.  
  • Experience with project management planning and execution, particularly focused on hardware delivery
  • Strong experience with hardware / data center infrastructure
