Role Value Proposition: 

The Assistant Operator, Output Processing supports activities of the IT Output Processing unit, including problem escalation and resolution, capacity planning, productivity measurement, and procedure, process, and tool improvement initiatives. This individual analyzes and formulates recommendations pertaining to print, mail center post processing, check writing, fulfillment center, and stock and supply areas.     

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Properly sets up and operates MICR Printers, check inserters, folders, copiers.  Ensures problems are immediately reported to the Area Supervisor and / or management.
  • Answers phone politely and responds professionally to all requests from internal and external customers.
  • Handles requests for special check processing with quick, precise response. 
  • Keeps accurate and precise counts on all log sheets of all checks printed, inserted, presort and special handling. 
  • Maintains all required meter logs, reconciliation logs, postage reports, check inventory logs, District Office & IA mail logs, and check statement logs accurately.
  • Gives clear and precise carryover instructions to all co-workers taking over for them.
  • Has thorough understanding of all procedures dealing with MA&H cancellations including matching, notarizing, mass certified, and affiant responsibilities in addition to preparing spoiled postage reports and meter replenishments.
  • Completes all supporting paper documentation according to USPS regulations. Maintains accurate logs pertaining to the mail presort operation.
  • Release and distribute all Hardcopy / Mail
  • Zip Code Presort Mailing Operation Tags & Supplies.

 

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

 

Required:

  • Ability to make sound decisions when necessary to ensure all commitments are met. 
  • Ability to take corrective action with all problems encountered, and see that all Trouble Report tickets are properly written and closed on all hardware and software problems.
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift 20-50 pounds.
