MIM Real Estate maintains a portfolio invested in commercial real estate mortgages, agricultural mortgages, and real estate equities. Building upon their in-depth real estate knowledge and longstanding industry relationships, professionals in MIM Real Estate’s seven domestic regional offices (Atlanta, Chicago, Dallas, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Washington, DC, and Whippany, NJ) and four international offices (London, Mexico City, Tokyo, and Santiago) source, underwrite, acquire, asset manage and dispose of direct equity real estate investments. The Chicago Regional Office Equity Asset Management Senior Analyst will support the Asset Management team for MIM Real Estate’s institutional clients.  The regional portfolio includes office, industrial, multifamily, retail, and land holdings.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the asset management team in directing asset investment strategy and managing the equity portfolio to satisfy the investment needs of MIM Real Estate’s institutional clients.
  • Assist in the preparation and review of business plans, property operating budgets, capital budgets, income reprojections and compliance.
  • Assist in underwriting and valuation of large/complex commercial real estate assets including office, industrial, multifamily, and retail, and review/provide feedback on third party underwriting of quarterly property valuations.
  • Assist in the review of leases during lease negotiations and conduct financial analyses of lease economics.
  • Manage database applications and oversee portfolio reporting and monitoring requirements.
  • Participate in market and property inspections.
  • Research and analyze regional geographic markets and industry data. 
  • Support as needed in asset dispositions, including coordinating sales effort with outside brokers.
  • Coordinate with acquisitions team regarding new investments to minimize operational or financial issues following closing. 
  • Assist in due diligence and coordination with asset managers during the closing/onboarding process including, tenant estoppel reviews, OFAC compliance, ARGUS audit, rent roll/lease verification, etc. as required in the for the acquisition and development of real estate equity assets.
  • Coordinate with property managers and leasing teams in gathering property information on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Prepare reports and documents for review by senior management and third-party clients.
  • Work with Regional Architect on updating internal reports.
  • Process all REIT compliance, GRESB and other compliance related reports.


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:


  • 1-3 years’ relevant experience with demonstrated understanding of commercial real estate valuation and discounted cash flow analysis, and exposure to relevant property types including office, industrial, multifamily, and retail.
  • Strong quantitative and computer skills, specifically Excel and Argus Enterprise; knowledge of MRI – Budgeting & Foresight software and
  • Well organized and results-orientated team player with the ability to work independently under pressure while handling multiple assignments.  Emphasis on communication skills (both oral and written) with ability to interact with and make recommendations to senior team members.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Math, Statistics, Liberal Arts, or a related field of study.

  • MBA or master’s in real estate equivalent preferred.
  • Familiarity with the leading commercial real estate market data resources (i.e.-CoStar, CBRE Econometric Advisors, Real Capital Analytics, etc.) a plus.
