Position:  Vice President, Network Operations (Cary, North Carolina)

Duties: Responsible for computer networking technology and operations in U.S. and over 40 international countries. Responsible for the networking of tens of thousands of computers throughout offices and computing data centers. Lead a team responsible for managing and governing a cross-functional IT function group, supporting data, voice and video initiatives and delivering major transformational technology initiatives globally. Implement and support major networking solutions, provide options that support and enable businesses to meet their strategic objectives, deliver high-quality solutions and services in market-driven timeframes, and, continuously optimize technology infrastructure investment and lower unit rates annually. Transform and optimize the operating model to ensure IT operational safety and soundness through effective and proactive measures for risks and security. Support other peer IT groups such as application and data operations, technical operations, print and document services, situation management and the continual IT services improvement function. Optimize the organizational efficiency by aligning business priorities, risks and gaps with industry best-practices and improve company's bottom line. Manage network contracts, services and resources. Develop, implement and support innovative computer networking solutions to drive revenue, optimize solutions and services to maximize return on investment, and reduce unit rates while driving volume growth and ensuring the competitiveness of service. Manage and direct the solutions and ensure network architecture, strategies and cost to be best in class. Directly responsible for the global network services and design standards adopted in U.S. and international offices, including IT services such as telephony, computer equipment and video conferencing. Manage the interaction and accountability with industry partners and vendors with thought-leadership, industry trends, product directions and required product enhancements. Provide best-in-class service support to all stakeholders for infrastructure services and service components within the area of responsibility.

Requirements: Bachelor's or foreign education equivalent in computer science, engineering, or information systems and seven (7) years of experience providing leadership for significant IT operational programs, both from a user/client and solution-provider perspective. Specific skills/other requirements: communicating and presenting to executive level leaders, senior IT operations leadership, C-suite leaders, senior leaders of IT production management, and executives from vendor partner organizations (5 years); performing governance, enterprise operational modeling, business process re-design and change control (5 years); managing an IT operations organization, including analyzing business needs to ensure that technological solutions meet those needs (5 years); providing IT support to an insurance business (2 years); and delivering IT related operational practices in compliance with IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) practices (7 years). Position requires frequent domestic and international travel, including to MetLife's headquarters. Approximately 10-40% travel.
