Position:  VP, App Dev Infrastructure Enablement


Job Location: Cary, NC  or NY, NY MetLife locations preferred. Hybrid schedule: 3 days in the office, 2 days out of the office. 


The Role:  The VP of Application Development, Infrastructure Enablement will serve as a key member of the newly formed Infrastructure Shared Services Enablement organization as the primary interface with Global Technology (application development) senior leadership, to align customers’ needs with infrastructure services through a centralized partner intake process, solutions engineering, self-service, complex deals, and the establishment of centers of excellence for stakeholder enablement and site reliability engineering.


This role will help define and deliver on technology strategy in alignment with organizational goals. Drives execution of critical initiatives, in collaboration with stakeholders and engineers across multiple organizations. Proactively identifies ways to improve and optimize the environment, through tactical recommendations and strategic plans including resource capacity and delivery date adherence.

  • Reports to SVP, Infrastructure Shared Services, and Enablement
  • Direct reports/team: 6
  • Key Stakeholders: CIO’s, CTO, CDO, CISO, GI Service Owners


Key Responsibilities:

  • Drives critical and strategic infrastructure solutions and programs across the organization.
  • Leads the team responsible for the intake of all strategic initiatives and programs between infrastructure, GTS, AD, and Digital.
  • Effectively influences and openly communicates with senior leadership and business partner leadership.
  • Recognizes opportunities for new solutions and influences or directs the development of those solutions.
  • Facilitation of self-service capabilities through presentation demonstrations and benchmarks
  • Serves as the executive liaison on specific technical projects with internal and external stakeholders and customers.
  • Assists in the development of short, medium, and long-term plans to achieve strategic objectives.
  • Regularly interacts across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure alignment and achievement of business objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with GITO service owners on their capabilities and their alignment on AD requirements.
  • Drive IT innovation to ensure success in simplification and navigation of products.
  • Develop and maintain a broad range of internal and external business relationships to ensure delivery of IT services that meet customer needs.


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • 10-15 years of progressive experience driving AD (application development) projects globally.
  • Infrastructure experience and knowledge is a strong plus.
  • Solid technical background in multiple technologies.
  • Accomplished change management leader, able to operate effectively in a highly matrix environment.
  • Undergraduate degree required MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
  • Excellent communications.
  • Strong relationship building and management skills.
