Role Value Proposition: 

The Analyst, IT Operations Technician performs 24/7 monitoring of enterprise wide systems. This encompasses multi-technology computing platforms including mid-range, mainframes and client -server. This individual will ensure a stable operating environment for maximum system availability and performance.

 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Following standard operating procedures performs level 1 problem determination
  • Researches problems reported by Help Desk, Console Alerting, Service Now Incidents, performs initial triage. 
  • Analyzes/determines business impact of problem/issue, and performs necessary steps to correct problem.
  • Performs monitoring of enterprise-wide architecture to ensure optimal availability; Performs restoration of service of identified incidents. 
  • Performs change related activities; Installs and maintains VMware, VSphere, Linux, and Microsoft Windows based server environments.   
  • Monitors incident, problem, change, and service request queues, ensuring items are addressed in a timely and appropriate manner.     
  • Independently pursues tasks as directed by management; Identifies areas in the Command Center for improvement.

 

Required Experience:

  • 2+ years computer operations experience in a large data center environment involving multiple platforms/technologies or similar environment.
  • Experience with Windows, Cloud Computing (Azure), Vsphere/Vmware, and its related hardware components and Infrastructure.
  • IT management tools, Storage and backup components.

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field, or equivalent work experience.  
  • Good communication skills, ability to build effective partnerships with peer groups, vendor staff, etc.
  • Ability to focus on multiple tasks and projects, potentially in parallel with regular monitoring and restoration of service activities.             
  • Familiarity with Mainframe and its disciplines.
