Sr. Software Dev Engineer Test

Key Responsibilities

· Participate in the collection and documentation of user requirements as well as the development of user stories and estimates.

· Provide insights and best practices for user story documentation that facilitates in development of testing processes.

· Define testing strategy and approach for validating new or enhanced functionality.

· Determine test dependencies including QA test environment, QA tools, build and deployment plans, intra-team dependencies.

· Execute smoke, functional, integration, test scripts as part of product delivery lifecycle. This involves both Manual and automation testing.

· Contribute to the design and architecture of new or re-engineered Automation frameworks.

· Communicate with developers and end users to ensure that test cases are accurate, comprehensive, and documented correctly.

· Build and maintain automated and reusable test frameworks for both frontend and backend.

· Review and write test automation code for both front end and back end.

· Develop and execute manual test cases to detect issues that cannot be detected through automation.

· Collaborate with DevOps colleagues to setup test automation and test data through Continuous Integration Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

· Participate in Agile ceremonies such as scrum, grooming, retrospective and PI Planning.

· Identify innovative solutions to technical challenges.

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills 

Required:

· 5+ years of current, hands-on experience, in software engineering, test data management delivery or quality engineering/testing for both backend and frontend.

· 3+ years of current, hands-on experience, with Selenium or Tosca testing frameworks

· 3+ years of recent, hands-on experience, with coding technologies (C# preferred)

· Proficient in creating testing scenarios, writing test cases, developing automated test cases and debugging existing code.

· Proficient with development of stress & performance tests.

· Proficient with development of unit tests using Nunit/Xunit/Junit frameworks.

· Proficient in database technologies such as relationship database design and SQL query.

· Strong knowledge of web standards such as HTML, CSS, XPath.

· Strong knowledge of relational databases, xml, and json data structures.

· Demonstrated problem solving and troubleshooting skills

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred

· Experience with code quality/coverage tools (Sonar or equivalent)

· Experience with security/vulnerability analysis tools (Veracode or equivalent)

· Experience with tool evaluations and integrations to support test activities.

· Understanding and experience scripting build, test, and deployment pipelines, preferably in Azure DevOps environment.

· Understanding and experience with Git and GitFlow in a team environment (merge requests, branching, push, and pulls)

· Understanding of distributed microservice architectures and design patterns

· Experience working in Agile environment, preferably with SAFE (Scaled Agile Framework) experience

 

Education/Certification

· Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related field

· SAFe, ISTQB, CAST certifications preferred
