MetLife is seeking a Senior Project Lead to join our growing team in Cary, NC. The associate will be experienced in dealing with complex cross-functional or enterprise wide projects with the ability to drive both effective and efficient outcomes.  It is expected that the associate, while working independently, will drive these projects from original concept through final implementation and will be able to communicate with stakeholders and leaders the status of specific projects.

 

    

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive operational excellence through the understanding and alignment of key customer goals and business priorities. 
  • Responsible for project management execution including but not limited to estimating and managing projects’ costs and resources; identifying and managing projects’ risks and issues; monitoring progress of all key project work streams, deliverables and outcomes; creation and maintenance of detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports
  • Designs, implements, and monitors the progress of initiatives, milestones, and budgets to ensure timelines and deliverables are met.
  • Responsible for monthly program financial forecasting in coordination with partner teams along with financial reconciliation and financial adjustments to maintain expected budget
  • Leads and motivates project team members that are not direct reports that may cross various functional areas.  In addition to, leads project meetings and provides updates to senior leadership regarding project status and the application and implementation of technology.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

 

Required:

  • 2-5 years managing IT projects
  • 1 or more years of experience in managing project finances across large IT projects with multiple partners
  • Very strong presentation and communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledgeable in office automation tools (MS Office suite of applications, email, Internet, etc.)

 

Perferred:

  • Successful in building partnerships across the organization and lead teams with a shared goal
  • Exceptional analytical skills with demonstrated ability to apply analysis to actionable insights
  • Organizational intelligence and strong influence management/cross-functional leadership skills; adept at working in a matrixed structure
  • Strong relationship management and facilitation skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Experience in Waterfall and Agile methodologies
