Our team’s primary objective is to enhance and maintain our Software Technology Stack that enables DevOps throughout MetLife.  We are seeking a Senior Software Development Engineer to join our growing team.  In this position, you will have exposure to all areas of software development including requirements gathering, development, testing, and deployment. Key Responsibilities:

  • Architect and implement end-to-end solutions to support our internal customers
  • Enhance, maintain, and support existing custom applications
  • Gather feedback from end-users to understand and develop solutions to enhance the experience of our systems
  • Analyze large sets of data to determine usage patterns, address issues, and produce metrics
  • Provide end-user support
  • Attend and participate in agile ceremonies
  • Actively participate in production deployments to validate changes
  • Prepare documentation and participate in knowledge transfers
  • Coaching and mentoring other team members to deliver on the architectural vision
  • Keeping up to date with shifts in technology, tools, practices, and patterns as it related to DevOps


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:


  • 5+ years of demonstrable software engineering and DevOps experience
  • 5+ years of database development
  • 5+ years of demonstrable software engineering and DevOps experience
  • Experience building applications using the Microsoft stack (.NET, .NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, Blazor, MSSQL) following industry best practices and patterns
  • Solid understanding of Test-Driven Development
  • Working experience with Azure DevOps (Git, Pull Requests, Build & Release Pipelines)
  • Proficiency interacting with API and web services
  • Experience working in Agile environment
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required. Computer Science, Information Technology or related field preferred
  • Demonstrated growth mindset, enthusiastic about learning new technologies quickly and applying the gained knowledge to address business problems



  • Experience in UX design
  • Ability to communicate with or address technical audiences of varying sizes
  • Hands-on experience designing, configuring, and implementing end-to-end CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps)
  • Experience with other DevOps tools: Artifactory, Urban Code Deploy (UCD), Atlassian (BitBucket, Bamboo, JIRA)
  • Experience with modern infrastructure patterns (Cloud/Azure, containers/Docker, etc…)
  • Experience using SAFe Agile Methodologies
