Role Value Proposition: 

 

The Business Systems Analyst will act as a liaison between the following groups: Actuarial Production,   Actuarial Systems and the Actuarial IT Unit. In the capacity of Business Analyst, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

 

Key Responsibilities:  

 

  1. Partner with business units and IT teams to identify sources of data.

  2. Continual interaction with IT teams in the development life cycle to identify and resolve issues and queries.

  3. Act as the liaison between the Corporate Actuarial and IT area, with the ability to translate business and technology needs.

  4. Defines project requirements by actively working with internal  IT team and customers to analyze business needs, gather and document business and functional requirements

  5. Requirements elicitation and information gathering, solution analysis, documentation, and creation of business specifications

  6. Prepares Business and functional requirements documentation by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information

  7. Act as primary contact on open issues and questions about the project

  8. Assemble and facilitate review and approval of business requirements

  9. Facilitate meetings and document the outcome

  10. Collaborate with business and technical SMEs to detect and correct data inconsistency in test and production environments

  11. Perform data quality assessment and support remediation of data gaps

  12. Ability to review code to document changes if required

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

 

  1. Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 5 years of actual work as a Business Analyst.
  2. Proficient Microsoft Office PC skills including Excel, Project, Power Point and Word and Visio.
  3. 3.Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  4. Excellent Data mapping skills must be able to compare 2 data sets and create document.
  5. Experience with creation of requirements and functional Documentation.
  6. Ability to work in a team environment.

 

Preferred:

  1. Experience with an insurance carrier (individual, group, life, claims processing, etc.) is a plus
  2. Finance Actuarial or strong financial background is highly desirable
  3. 3.Knowledge of Software Development Process
