Within Global Technology and Operations (GTO), the centralized TechQA organization, tasked with all software testing, is looking for you to lead the planning and execution of large and extra-large testing programs. These programs will be large in terms of duration and complexity. You will have responsibility for managing the work of the testing project managers (employees and vendors) for the various technology applications involved in the program. Although direct administrative supervision is not part of this role, having this in your experience is a large plus, as leadership, management and executive communication skills are key.  In this leadership role, you will partner closely with closely with development and business stakeholders to ensure the quality of the business solution into the production environment. 

The GTO group is a diverse team of engineers, developers, and business and project managers with the freedom to create innovative solutions to core business challenges within MetLife.  TechQA is the consolidated software testing organization within GTO. Test Engineering is a sub-organization of TechQA that acts as a centralized services provider and consultant to the Test Delivery organization.

    

Key Responsibilities: 

 

  • Responsible for the overall quality of technology testing deliverables across all parameters including Test Data and Environment Management, Data Demand Management, Data Contention Management, Data Contention Management, Data Reservations, and the TDM Self Service Portal. Collaborates with required functions to ensure technology testing needs are well covered for all the projects and programs required
  • Works with many areas of the organization, typically at the enterprise level, and has extensive knowledge of initiating, planning, executing, monitoring & controlling and closing of IT programs
  • Leads IT program teams (virtual, matrix) for efforts medium to large in size, duration and complexity, and applies program and project management processes (including managing stakeholder expectations, communications, budget management, schedule management, performance reporting, etc.) to an IT program.
  • Maintains a “big and complete” picture view of the project/programs, its dependencies, business goals, technology arena, etc. and helps guide & direct the functioning of the Testing delivery teams appropriately
  • Research assistance in industry best practices and trends to constantly evolve the testing practice and Implements testing methodology (process and templates), tools, and training
  • Works with AD teams to determine how to build and enhance applications to maximize testability and ensure application stability (technical and strategic), proactively identifies risk and partner to mitigate them.

 

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 8+ years of working experience in IT or related experience
  • 4-6+ years project/program management experience combined
  • PMI / Safe Agile Certifications requires
  • Sound knowledge on Test Automation and Management tools required.
  • Good knowledge of current industry wide quality & test processes and practices, tools and techniques - their applicability and impact.
  • Software Analysis & Design knowledge/experience is needed while also having a solid background in Software Quality & Testing. Must have hands-on experience having performed both functional and non-functional testing and be able to review requirements, design and even code as needed.

 

Preferred:

  • Three plus years of management experience with direct reports
  • Experience working in fast paced Agile environment.
  • Knowledge on TDM process and tools.
  • Hands on Automation scripting both UI and Webservices
  • Experience working on cloud implementation/migration programs
  • ITIL certification
