Location: Cary, NC 

Hybrid Role: 3 days in office, 2 days work from home

 

Role Value Proposition: 

The MetLife Employee Experience team is looking for a Software Development Engineer in a full stack developer capacity. You will be a member of an Agile delivery team building and deploying systems, leveraging modern design and integrations across the entire software stack. As a full stack engineer you will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of solutions in support of organizational goals and objectives. You will collaborate closely with the Scrum Lead, Product Owner, and ART LeadershipYou will have the opportunity to work on a wide variety of systems and technologies used globally by MetLife associates and lines of business.


Key Responsibilities:  

  • Assists in the creation of architectural specifications, ensuring feasibility, functionality, and integration with existing systems/platforms in a limited capacity
  • Participate in the collection and documentation of user requirements as well as the development of user stories and estimates
  • Participates in technical design, development, implementation, and maintenance of application systems. Responsible for front or backend development, with an understanding of both.
  • Participates in the investigation and resolution of production management incidents, problems, and service requests.
  • Supports production applications/platforms
  • Identifies innovative solutions to technical challenges


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Strong hands-on experience with C#, web development, modern JavaScript frameworks, REST web services
  • Ability to build, deliver and operate complex applications
  • 3+ years’ experience in Software Development
  • Proven CI/CD Agile, DevOps/Lean experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with focused attention to details, as well as, demonstrated professionalism and time/task management skills
  • Strong Software Development Life Cycle knowledge and experience, or comparable methodologies
  • Cross functional working team: organize, motivate, and work in dynamic environment

  • Experience working with Microsoft Azure or other cloud environments
  • Experience working with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
  • Knowledge of Azure Bot framework, Azure Cognitive Services (LUIS) and QnA Maker
  • Design experience utilizing Use Cases, Features, and User Stories
  • Experience working with offshore software development and third-party vendors
  • Knowledge of SharePoint Online
  • Proficiency with various database technologies and solutions, including SQL
  • SAFe Agile certification
