Role Value Proposition: 

The Virtualization Engineer is responsible for participating in the selection, planning, and implementation of End User Virtualization technologies. This engineer will play key roles in the identification and resolution of complex end user computing problems (Tier 4 support) utilizing structured trouble-shooting tools and techniques. This engineer will participate in end user computing / workplace technology solutions design, engineering, optimization as well as contribute to the overall direction of the technology responsible for software, hardware, and resource decisions. Additionally this person will collaborate with internal Engineering teams, vendors and external IT groups to design and implement Global solutions to meet both global and local in country business requirements based on Domestic Reference Architecture.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Designing and providing 4th level support for key technologies such as Citrix XenApp, XenDesktop.
  • Working independently, manages large scale projects or oversees multiple related large scale projects
  • Develop Packaging standards using install shield, App-V, AppDNA, Ivanti AppSense.  
  • Develop QA standards for packaged software to ensure deployments meet Citrix team standards and installations are successful.

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • 5 + years in a related field, preferably in professional services and/or industry
  • 5+ years of experience working in a Virtualization Engineering and Architecture capacity (managing large scale environments, installation, configuration and troubleshooting) with Microsoft server and end user operating systems.
  • 2+ years of experience working in an administrative capacity (installation, configuration and troubleshooting) with end-user virtualization technologies including but not limited to Citrix XenApp and/or XenDesktop and MS App-V
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to lead and manage resources as well as present business cases and articulate strategy to Sr. Leadership and Customers
  • Customer Service Orientation and strong teamwork

 

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science (or related discipline)
  • Citrix Certified Advanced XenApp and XenDesktop Administrator
  • Experience with deployment tools like SCCM and BladeLogic.
  • Strong Collaboration, problem solving analytical and documentation skills.
  • Strong presentation skills and preparation of executive PowerPoint presentations
