Role Value Proposition: 

As part of Global Technology Services Program and Project Methodology and Execution (PPME) team, Solutions Acceleration program lead role will involve leading and managing key MetLife digital technology programs and projects that span the globe, delivering value for the business aligned to MetLife’s strategic objectives in a multimodal delivery environment. Delivering on the Solutions Acceleration commitment to drive and accelerate value delivery forth business, Leveraging the appropriate blend of methodologies and bet practices, the program lead in Solutions Acceleration will encounter unique and complex planning and implementation challenges be empowered to deliver across all aspects of the benefit value stream.  As a strategic initiative program lead, it will be imperative to maintain a well-rounded understanding of the business strategy and capabilities while maintaining current knowledge of the MetLife technology services portfolio and future state roadmaps.  utilizing Agile and waterfall methodologies. You will be versed in risk management providing tracking, escalation of issues and anticipating project specific risks to ensure timely and on-budget implementations. You’re excellent at communicating to all levels and are comfortable explaining your team’s analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing technical estimates with application developers and infrastructure engineers. The Project Manager will play an integral role in driving and delivery of MetLife’s Global strategic digital programs.

    

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Drive value-based planning and execution efforts, coordinating component projects and leading complex matrixed teams of domain experts to achieve business goals
  • Utilized fit for purpose (Agile/Waterfall) methodologies, tools and reporting
  • Ensure quality delivery of business value through regular executive communication and adherence to defined performance standards
  • Builds and maintains working relationships with project and subject matter expert teams, vendors, and other departments involved in the programs.
  • Lead program risk assessment and critical dependency mapping, driving accountability and identifying and leading value acceleration and mitigation strategies.

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

 

Required:

  • 7+ years related work experience in program management
  • Strong record of success leading large complex technology programs with significant P&L impact driving diverse teams of geographically dispersed knowledge experts  with strong analytical, problem-solving and organizational skills
  • Certified or significant relevant experience with a variety of the IT delivery modalities (waterfall, Agile, lean)
  • Adept at working with distributed, global teams. Contributes to a culture of innovation, collaboration, and partnership with a willingness to proactively coach, facilitate, share knowledge, and be the role model and advocate for a changing technology organization.
  • Manages focused program recovery activities including quick situational analysis, needs assessment, senior leader engagement and hands-on collaboration, along with issue, risk and change management
  • PMP certification
  • Undergraduate degree
     
    Preferred:
  • Agile/Lean certification or experience a plus.
  • MBA or other advanced degree preferred.)
