Work Arrangement: Hybrid 3 days in office/2 days remote.

 

Role Value Proposition:      

Design and implement scalable financial data solutions deployed on on-prem/cloud platforms. Develop tools for internal and external customers using Web and data frameworks on Microsoft Azure PaaS Architecture. Build and develop prototypes using latest technologies that can be scaled and productionalized. Plan and coordinate migration of major on-premises Hadoop applications to Microsoft Azure cloud platform. Collaborate with architecture and Platform Engineering teams to define technical direction and ensure alignment with enterprise technology strategy. Ensure that engineered solutions address scale, reuse, and high availability requirements by leveraging existing platforms and established best practices. Accelerate and increase efficiency by continuously improving engineering and operations practices. Contribute to external industry trends, advancements, and innovations in technical areas of expertise. Work in an Agile development model to develop and release working software to production on a predefined release schedule. Drive DevOps automation by implementing test driven development, creating continuous integration and deployment pipelines using Azure DevOps framework. Support production applications and processes.

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Technology or Management Information Systems (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus ten (10) years of experience developing information systems. Specific skills/other requirements (quantitative experience requirement not applicable to this section) -- must possess the following: Migrating existing Hadoop workloads and developing new functions in Azure data frameworks, including Data Factory, Databricks, Data Lake, or Synapse; developing and enhancing Batch services (SSIS), Reports (SSRS) and back-end Microsoft.NET code for user interface applications; reverse engineering Big Data code and rewriting it for installation on Azure Data Lake, Databricks and Synapse using Apache Spark, Hadoop, Scala or Hive; supplying data to upstream/downstream systems using SAOP, REST or XML; and creating database schemas, writing stored procedures and complex SQL queries, and performing data analysis and performance tuning tasks using SQL Server or Oracle.
