Role Value Proposition: 

MetLife is seeking a Senior Project Lead to perform project management for the Application Development organization. As part of the team, the candidate will partner to lead the planning, coordination, data analysis, project monitoring and status reporting of moderate cross-functional initiatives. This role is part of an organization focused on strategy, organizational communication and workforce planning, cross functional alignment and transformation to drive business success.


Key Responsibilities:  

  • Drive planning and execution efforts, coordinating component projects and partnering with other teams to achieve business goals
  • Ensure quality delivery of outcomes through regular executive communication and adherence to defined performance standards
  • Build and maintain working relationships with project and subject matter expert teams, vendors, and other departments involved in the projects
  • Handle complex situations and multiple responsibilities simultaneously, mixing long-term strategy with the urgency of immediate demands
  • Devise a strategy, process, timeline, and change management efforts necessary to define and implement workforce planning
  • Articulate the vision for analytical work in key domains for workforce planning (data tracking, creating strategic plan and bringing in industry best practices) and work with the teams to execute on the vision


Essential/Required Business Experience and Technical Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or technology or human resources
  • Minimum 7 years of business or HR experience in medium to large organizations
  • Minimum 4 years of workforce planning experience-workforce strategy, data analytics, forecasting and predictive analytics
  • Minimum 3 years of experience leading cross functional initiatives
  • Excellent Microsoft skills - Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • Good knowledge of Project Financials and Budgeting
  • Track record in creating organizational communications, both written and digital 
  • Self-motivated and ambitious with ability to proactively drive business plans and projects
  • Data driven yet pragmatic with strong quantitative capabilities, business judgment and strong organizational skills
  • Resilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere. High-energy, agile-minded, proactive.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, ability to think strategically and critically in developing solutions to complex problems.
  • Experience in IT project management or IT-business relationship management, business strategy, or consulting
  • Team player; able to work collaboratively and effectively with and through others at all levels in an organization; proven ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. Experience driving organizational communications; ability to clearly articulate messages to a variety of audiences including executive level communication and presentations
  • Flexible and adaptable; versatile; mission-driven; good sense of self and strong personal presence 


  • Work experience in Insurance and/or Financial service industry
  • Six Sigma Black Belt certification a plus
  • People management experience
