Role Value Proposition:

Senior level infrastructure technology engineer who possesses hands on experience with diverse virtualized technologies, including but not limited to Distributed Servers, Enterprise Servers, Storage subsystems and operating system life cycle, patch management network configuration automation, orchestration engineering. SRE knowledge and help implement SRE practices. Collaborate with Engineering, Application Development, and other departments in supporting our complex IT environments and improve reliability of products and services.  This position requires working knowledge of applications running on various platforms, physical and virtual environments, various cloud providers, VMware, Operating systems, Network devices, Storage devices and Database servers. This position supports critical business activity in a 24/7 Application Infrastructure Platforms and Services department. Must understand the ITSM process, operations data, as well as real time visibility requirements and how each interacts with the operation of complex production environments. We are looking for an individual that can use critical thinking, collaborate across teams, have automation mindset to improve reliability, availability, and performance of our infrastructure and applications.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyzing problems in the environment with a mind for restoration of service and automated prevention in the future.
  • Participates in the evaluation and recommendation of new products, maintains knowledge of emerging technologies for application to the enterprise.
  • Collaborating with support and development teams.
  • Identifying existing metrics and monitoring systems to prevent future production incidents.
  • Speaking with confidence during conference calls of 50+ participants.
  • Identifying opportunities to build innovative tools and solve unique operations problems.
  • Build automation to perform redundant tasks rather than manually handling toil
  • Participates in the development of strategies and direction for server or storage systems solutions using current and emerging technologies.
  • Design solutions with failure in mind to ensure reliability
  • Enjoy working with a large variety of services and technologies
  • Participates in the development of project plans.
  • Familiar with change management concepts
  • Optimize business processing, minimize manual

intervention and ensure the reliability and timely processing of critical tasks.

  • Have industry experience with software/infrastructure architecture


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required experience:

  • 6-8+ years problem-solving and debugging skills across a variety of integrated platforms
  • Self-motivated with the desire and ability to explore and understand difficult concepts inside large architectures with the aptitude to be a good team player and the willingness to learn and implement new technologies as needed
  • Excellent knowledge of operating systems and subsystems, systems software, enterprise design and software, and/or storage management
  • Excellent knowledge of network hardware and software, infrastructure and design, topologies and protocols.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication skills, both verbal and in writing.
  • Ability to foster strong partnerships with business customers, peer groups and vendors.
  • Strong customer service focus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to dive into unfamiliar code and root cause problems- a strong object-oriented design and programming background using all the latest technologies is a must
  • Ability to understand interrelated production problems you must have the willingness and aptitude to learn what business need the applications we support perform and then relate that to the overall technological environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree required with a major in related field preferred


Preferred Experience:

  • Experience contributing to architecture design reviews to improve scalability, reliability, capacity, and performance
  • Background identifying and driving opportunities to improve automation
  • Scale systems sustainably through mechanisms like automation, and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and velocity
  • SaaS, PaaS, IaaS deployment models
  • Understanding of DevOps Culture
  • Master’s and/or relevant industry certifications
