The Senior Data Security Admin will identify, develop, and implement database security solutions to enhance MetLife’s policy and controls environment. This hands-on position also requires strong global collaboration skills to work with cross functional teams, to ensure that the design of technology solutions comply with MetLife’s information risk and security policies and regulatory obligations.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all database environments at MetLife are secure and appropriately monitoring for risk and vulnerabilities.  Database environments include SQL, Oracle, MongoDB, Hadoop, Sybase, DB2, and UDB.
  • Implement changes to existing security tools and processes based on changes in scope.
  • Work with internal infrastructure security teams to align and execute changes to support the tools and processes.
  • Partnering with architecture, engineering, application, security, and operational staff to identify and drive resolution on database security gaps.
  • Handling operations and maintenance, while integrating output from these tools into daily security operations.
  • Interfacing with vendors to ensure the appropriate tools, configurations, and workflows are in place.


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:


  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree required with major in related field- computer science, engineering, CIS, MIS, IT security
  • Database administrator experience, with extensive database interaction.
  • Technologist that can pick things up very quickly, be independent, and become an expert.
  • Experience with database technologies, processes, and best practices, Ability to create scripts for basic automation tasks.
  • Willingness to learn. Possess strong communication skills and be able to document and explain technical details clearly and concisely.
  • Accomplished change management leader, able to operate effectively in a highly matrixed environment


  • Knowledgeable with any of the cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP, and/or others) Or certification in one or more of the following technologies: Microsoft Azure Security Engineer, Google Professional Cloud Security Engineer, AWS Certified Security Specialty, CISSP, CISA etc.
  • Strong record of success in supporting large scale programs, preferably in a global organization.
