The Global Technology (GTS) Performance Management team provides analytic solutions and services that enable employees to make better-informed and timely business and strategic decisions. The capabilities, reports, and analysis provided by the team serves as the core data, reporting, and analytic platform for the Global Technology Organization (GTO) of MetLife.

We are seeking a dynamic and energetic associate with a strong data warehouse architecture background to help drive the Performance Management vision/strategy.  In this role, the individual will focus on architecture warehousing solutions that will provide partners with the data they require to manage and communicate the success of their services. The role will apply technical knowledge, with proven business knowledge, communication, coaching, partnership, and problem-solving skills to ensure the Performance Management team is delivering the capabilities to achieve the highest levels of data, insights, and analytics to the organization.

 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Provide technology leadership and drive data strategy / architectural design
  • Lead the design, prototyping and development of high-performance, scalable, and maintainable data structures  
  • Partner with internal and external clients and provide creative leadership and innovative thinking to translate business needs into workable systems
  • Define formal standards, policies and processes regarding data architecture and data governance
  • Develop reusable frameworks and scalable approaches for evolving data architecture and integration needs
  • Measurably impact company performance by delivering high quality, scalable data products
  • Collaborate across a matrix team of developers, database engineers, ETL, testing, and production support
  • Maintain and monitor database performance (and metrics) and proactively implement efficiency solutions
  • Continuously monitor industry best practices and emerging software technologies to evolve and growth service
  • Be a leading advocate to a One MetLife culture creating a solid GTO Data Strategy presence by promotion & governance of core foundational principals
  • Lead incremental and transformative change to deliver substantial performance enhancements and actively seek opportunities to share best practices across the organization.
  • Resourceful and creative — must bring fresh out of the box insights to a dynamic business environment to address critical issues, develop creative solutions, and deliver measurable value

 

Business Experience and Technical Skills:

 

Required

  • BS in Computer Science, Information Systems or 2+ years data architecture development experience
  • Proven leadership experience in distributed data solution architecture and engineering
  • Advanced data techniques including modeling, data accessibility, integration and design
  • Demonstrated leadership in driving architectural projects from inception to implementation
  • Provide instruction and leadership in the principles of software development and data design
  • Define the overall structure and associated hierarchies of Data Warehouse schema
  • Drives Culture - Contribute to a culture of innovation, collaboration, and partnership with a willingness to proactively coach, facilitate, share knowledge, as a role model and advocate for a changing organization.

Desired

  • MS in Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
  • Advanced technical database technical certifications preferred
  • Excellent communication, influence, leadership and collaboration skills
  • Agile experience is a plus (Jira, Program Increment Planning, Iterations, ART, Scrum, etc.)
