Senior Capacity and Performance Reporting Analyst

Role Value Proposition: 

The Capacity Planning & Performance Optimization function is responsible for tracking and forecasting capacity demand, measuring workload performance, and optimizing hardware resources for efficiency and cost containment.  The Analysts on this team play a critical role in ensuring infrastructure and application stability in a rapidly changing environment.

    

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide historical capacity trend analyses for infrastructure migrations and workload changes
  • Develop and revise capacity reports as necessary to ensure information is relevant and actionable
  • Review performance baselines, capacity thresholds, and other KPIs for the various hardware platforms
  • Identify opportunities to increase efficiency and reduce risk across the server and storage environments
  • Support team efforts relating to incident investigation, root cause analysis and service requests

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • 5+ years’ proven experience supporting VMware, Windows, and Linux operating systems
  • Proficient in SQL scripting and database queries
  • Proficiency in Excel with data analysis and trending knowledge
  • Strong knowledge of server and/or storage infrastructure including UCS blades and EMC arrays
  • 3+ years’ experience in all phases of server management including capacity planning or performance tuning
  • Good oral, written, and presentation skills, with exceptional customer service orientation

 

Preferred:

  • Background in database administration and scripting / automation
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies and concepts
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems
  • Report writing experience; Power BI, Tableau, and/or Qlik Sense
