Senior Capacity Reporting Analyst

Role Value Proposition: 

As part of the Capacity and Performance Operations team, the Senior Capacity Reporting Analyst will use infrastructure and application performance data to identify operational risks, optimize resource usage, and reduce costs. This role will enhance and modernize the team’s reporting capabilities by developing compelling data visualizations that help business leaders make decisions and drive action.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for collection, evaluation, and analysis of infrastructure performance data across multiple platforms, environments, and applications. Must be able to query, merge, and correlate data from multiple disparate data sources
  • Responsible for the creation of detailed application/system performance reports, executive summaries, presentations, and other related documentation. Must be able to translate raw data into visually appealing reports that identify risks and optimization opportunities
  • Build self-service data dashboards; automate report generation and distribution where possible
  • Assist in problem investigations and root cause analyses for escalated capacity and performance issues


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:



  • 4+ years of experience in data analysis and reporting with a focus on data visualization and dashboards
  • Database query and data extraction skills required. Advanced knowledge of Excel and experience with data analysis tools like PowerBI or Tableau are integral for success in this role. Scripting skills (Python, Perl, PowerShell, etc.) are a plus
  • Knowledge of performance or capacity concepts and terminology (e.g. utilization, paging, caching, queuing, etc.)
  • Experience with one or more of the following: VMware, SAN storage, Cisco UCS, IBM Power hardware, converged infrastructure
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills



  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline, or at least 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of structural programming concepts with background in development
  • Experience with performance tools such as BMC TrueSight, Turbonomics, AppDynamics, Dynatrace, etc.
  • Background in database administration and/or scripting and automation
