Role Value Proposition:  As part of the overall Governance and Enabling Operations, this position is part of the Program Solutions and Delivery User Acceptance Testing Team.  The organization’s focus is on delivering on the Group Benefits project portfolio.  As a member of the UAT team, this role will be accountable for ensuring the quality of the solutions delivered, meet and/or exceed the business’s expectations.  This position is responsible for supporting the User Acceptance Testing effort as well as acts as a liaison between the business and IT personnel to support system enhancements and design activities until deployed to production and post-implementation testing has been completed.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Under minimal supervision oversee Medium to large projects that span across multiple areas, applications and functions and/or lines of business.
  • Creation of detailed project documentation and plans (where applicable), including Scope definition, testing approach, test plans, scripts, schedules communications, stakeholder presentation and sign off documentation.
  • Provides oversight and direction to testers (includes offshore and onshore) for multiple projects ensuring requirements traceability and timely defect management.
  • Responsible for tracking and resolving project issues and escalating issues appropriately and on a timeline basis.  Communicate status, defects and progress clearly and consistently. Create or update reports with status as needed.
  • Working with other Analysts, Consultants and Project Leads as required supporting processes, applications, tasks and projects. Under general supervision, oversees all aspects of small projects and/or phases of larger projects
  • Serves as a liaison between the business and the IT area, translating business needs into application software requirements
  • Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports. Runs or assists with project meetings
  • Provides updates to business leadership regarding project status and the application and implementation of technology
  • Determines specific business application software requirements to address business needs and analyses and designs solutions. Designs, implements, and monitors the progress of initiatives, milestones, and budgets to ensure timeliness and deliverables are met
  • Manages critical relationships with IT, consultants and vendors, internal end users, and business customers/leadership
  • Provides information to end users to help resolve problems regarding assigned system(s)
  • Performs other duties as assigned or required Under general supervision, oversees all aspects of small projects and/or phases of larger projects

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • Working knowledge of supported business functions, workflow, systems and transactions
  • Ability to multi-task and with time management skills and ability to work to tight deadlines to maximize results
  • Strong interpersonal and team skills and the ability to work as a partner with various individuals/teams as needed
  • Possess the ability to work in a matrix (cross departmental) work environment with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

 

Preferred:

  • MetLife Claims Product Knowledge preferred;  Disability, Dental and Life
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or 3-4 years related work experience
  • MetLife Application Knowledge
  • Knowledge of software Development Life cycle (SDLSC), testing process and methodologies, E2E, Waterfall, Agile, V model, risk Based testing and when to leverage each.
  • Knowledge of Quality Center
  • Possess strong knowledge of Microsoft tools (Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Work, Outlook)
  • Project Management skills
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to influence and communicate the direction of the organization
