Robotics process automation (RPA) solutions provide a platform for resources from the business operations to deliver self-service process automations on an IT supported, secure and resilient infrastructure.

 

As a key member of  RPA IT Center of Excellence team within EAD - Global Analytics and Data Service organization, the RPA Solutions Engineer - Build and Fulfillment should possesses knowledge of the automation product (Blue Prism Preferred), understands the MetLife IT landscape and is responsible for implementing efficient systems, processes, procedures, protocol and best  practices around robots demand, forecast and inventory management per the requirements of Business Process Automation team with the creation and evolution of the RPA  solution delivery framework, designing solutions, creating business objects and delivering automated processes.

 

This role will work with customers of the RPA service to ensure new requests for service are fulfilled in a high quality manner. This position will work closely with Business Process Automation CoE team, the RPA Service Delivery Lead, RPA Solutions Engineers, and RPA L3 support to meet customer requirements. Additionally, this role will serve as the primary continuous improvement leader for service request fulfillment. The role serves customers globally.

 

Key Responsibilities: 

 

  • Identifies, assesses and solves complex business problems for area of responsibility, where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
  • Provides technical solutions, effort estimation, define delivery strategy and plan
  • Closely follows the strategic direction set by senior management when establishing near term goals
  • Establishes system, processes,  protocols, standards and best practices for:
    • Robots – Demand, Forecast and Inventory Management:
      • Partner with BPA CoE engagement leads and RPA Solutions Engineer on forecast and demand management activities to ensure requests are not impacted by capacity shortages.
      • Devise an efficient  system for optimally and cost-effectively manage the demand, forecast and robots  inventory management the robot inventory and demands across multiple LoBs
      • Working closely with key stakeholders, identify opportunities for improvement and drive to value realization.
      • Influence the automation program to reduce time and effort to deliver new service request, establish regular KPI reporting and drive and promote continuous improvement
      • Document and track performance against key Request Process performance indicators
    • RPA Shared Services - Governance and Operations
      • Mature the shared services that allow for scaling the adoption of RPA globally within the enterprise keeping operational efficiency, productivity, quality of service leveraging the lessons learned to set a  stage  for  further evolve the  platform  to embrace  the autonomic and cognitive automation capabilities
      • Establishes process and  governance  framework for continuous alignment with enterprise digital transformation roadmap objectives
      • Participates with  thought leadership to establish well-defined Engagement Models, Intake Processes and Service Catalog, Service Level Agreements and Chargeback Models
      • Devise and evolve processes for ongoing Support and Maintenance considering the time-zone coverage as well as  evening-weekend support
  • Anticipates, identifies, tracks and resolves technical issues and risks affecting delivery
  • Prepares the detailed documentation and maintains knowledgebase

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Ability to interact with multiple Business and IT partners such as Windows Engineering, Virtualization Engineering and Database Engineering teams and the Operations teams 
  • Proven technical experience in an IT programming development environment.
  • Strong in requirement gathering and analysis (ability to work with a structured and methodical approach, combined with an enquiring mind).
  • Technical problem-solving skills and Excellent Verbal and Written communication skills.
  •  Ability to influence and successfully interface with executive leadership
  • Ability to lead a team of developers and testers and implement automation solutions independently.
  • Self-driven, motivated and enthusiastic problem–solver with  an ability to handle multiple tasks in parallel
  • Experience in driving process improvements, including establish, collecting, and reporting pertinent metrics to show the impact of those improvements.

 

Preferred:

  • Experience with RPA tools - Blue Prism (Preferred), UI Path/Automation Anywhere/OpenSpan/WinAuto etc
  • Hands on development experience in any of the programming languages/platforms .NET /J2EE/VB etc.
  • Experience in VB Script, JavaScript (AngularJS, NodeJS), Python, Perl, Bash & PoweShell is highly desired.
