Position:  Production Management Senior Lead (Cary, North Carolina)

 

Duties: Within the Global Technology Operations (GTO) group, help create innovative solutions to address core business challenges. Serve as a senior level resource, collaborating with application development and infrastructure partners to help drive complex infrastructure capacity planning, provisioning and governance. Provide end-to-end support for capacity increases, modifications and decommissions. Develop infrastructure processes, forecasts, documentation, metrics, and reporting. Examine the proposed system architecture, desired performance goals, historical trends and known project requirements to build a comprehensive capacity plan. Establish performance baselines, capacity limits, business metric models, and risk analyses. Create and maintain sophisticated infrastructure strategies, which predict distributed capacity demand for the current and future years. Identify opportunities for infrastructure optimization, focusing on cost avoidance and demand reduction. Lead efforts to investigate capacity related incidents impacting system performances and implement agile solutions to reduce/avoid impact to business.

 

Requirements: Bachelor's in Computer Science, Information Systems or Information Technology (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience as a project lead to manage infrastructure capacity planning, governance and provisioning, including partnering with engineering, incident management, problem management, release management and change management to deliver CPU, storage, memory and servers. Must possess the following: analyzing and provisioning capacity for CPU, storage, memory and servers utilizing ServiceNow, BMC Perceiver and Aptare; developing infrastructure models by partnering with domain engineers to provide hardware capacity estimates for large scale enterprises, comprised of complex distributed system architectures running on VMware, physical blades, AIX- Midrange and Azure Cloud; preparing annual organic capacity growth budget based upon historical usage trend analysis, including using Apptio to research, manage and report financial budget using established infrastructure chargeback models; leading capacity optimization projects by monitoring the performances of CPU, memory and SAN, including managing distributed platform server decommissioning project work; and facilitating meetings with business development, application development, database administrators, infrastructure and operations teams to define and implement infrastructure capacity solutions. .
