As a Principal Architect in Identity & Access Technology as part of Global Security Technologies you will be a senior member and leader providing technical expertise and domain architecture services for technology projects around the globe. You will have the opportunity to drive new IAM technologies and you will have the responsibility to define architectural patterns with security, resilience, and performance in mind.

 

The Principal Architect must have deep subject matter expertise in at least one primary architectural domain, with extensive experience and knowledge across modern IT technologies. The successful candidate must have demonstrated experience in defining robust architectural patterns, as well as the ability to document and communicate them to ensure adoption.

 

This role also must lead and mentor other engineers in support of the domain areas they represent within Identity & Access Technology.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Domain expertise in Identity & Access technologies
  • Responsible for creating, analyzing, and communicating technology standards, reference architectures, application design patterns, and other technical guidance 
  • Work closely with software engineers, security professionals, infrastructure engineers, and other Enterprise Architects in developing and utilizing Architecture guidance
  • Lead and mentor other engineers in the successful execution of MetLife’s IAM north star architecture
  • Participate on matrix team projects as assigned

 

Business Experience and Technical Skills

Required:

  • 7+ years’ experience in Software Engineering or Architecture and deep subject matter expertise in at least one primary IAM domain
  • 3+ years of experience with security architecture including hands-on knowledge of SAML 2.0, oAuth, OpenID Connect, SSO, Multi-Factor Authentication, cloud security, etc.
  • 2+ years knowledge with Cloud Computing platforms
  • Experience with tools and app integration patterns around Azure AD, SiteMinder, Ping
  • Demonstrated expertise in security, operational, and resiliency architecture principles

 

Preferred:

  • Demonstrated influencing and negotiating skills
  • Strong Software Development Life Cycle knowledge and experience, particularly Agile and DevOps
  • Demonstrated business acumen especially in insurance and financial industries and systems
  • Experience delivering global programs/strategies to diverse business and IT teams 
  • Must be an intelligent, articulate, and influential leader who can effectively communicate technology-related concepts to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated ability to apply analysis to actionable insights
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field
