Program Description

The MTU Professional Program is designed to help transition college undergraduates into full-time Global Technology roles. A Pro’s journey is comprised of training, ample networking opportunities, leadership lunch-and-learns, professional development sessions, and social/philanthropic activities. 


The combination of relevant training/meaningful work/skilled coaching & mentoring, along with a supportive MetLife work culture that aligns to the needs of the business, provides a strong initial framework designed to drive early-in-career success. Here at the MTU Professional Program, we ultimately seek to develop a skilled/adaptable workforce that serves the needs of our 100 million customers worldwide!


MTU Professionals will:

  • Strengthen technical skills & develop business acumen

  • Work on projects that will have a direct customer impact
  • Present project findings to an audience of peers, managers and leaders


Program Requirements

  • Majors sought include, but not limited to:  Analytics, Business Administration, CIS, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Science, Information Technology, MIS, and Statistics
  • Graduation date with Bachelor's Degree between May - December 2022


The 2022 Professional Program Start Date will be November 21st, 2022 (December 2022 Graduates can start week after graduation)

Career Tracks:

  • Global Technology: Work with team members as a Functional Analyst, Full Stack Engineer, or Site Reliability Engineer. As a Functional Analyst, you will participate in Agile ways of working and collaborate in discovery sessions to observe, document, and validate business processes. As a Full Stack Engineer, you will work with teams to build to scale with DevOps teams to assist with development, testing, implementation and support distributed computing systems, mobile applications, and APIs. As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will assist teams monitoring performance and identify underlying problems of applications, platforms, and systems.


  • Global Infrastructure: Work with Infrastructure teams such as Data Infrastructure, End User Technologies, Application Operations, Global Security, Networks and Hosting, and various Cloud and Engineering platforms. You will develop skills using some of the most up to date technologies and tools that support over 40 countries globally.


  • IT Risk & Security: Work with team members to build use cases and threat profiles, improve risk management, and accelerate automation in Information Security processes. You will use and build skills related to Cybersecurity as well as Python, Azure environments, Splunk and RSA Archer.


  • Data & Analytics: Work with team members as a Data Scientist, Data Engineer or Solutions Engineer. As a Data Scientist, you will contribute to solving important product and business problems by building advanced analytical models using data science methodologies and visualization techniques. As a Data Engineer, you will work with teams to develop data models and pipelines and ensuring data quality that enables analytics, business intelligence and technology products. As a Solutions Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams in setting priorities and using agile ways of working to scope and deliver data and analytics solutions.
