Role Value Proposition:   

The Litigation Support Analyst works within the legal IT department to manage, carry-out, and track requests for e-discovery.  The person works with their Case Manager counterpart to fulfill requests for discovery data, deliver it to the requesting party, and track the request and the data delivered. The position entails frequent interaction with legal IT Case Managers, IT system analysts, system vendors, and attorneys in order to fulfill data requests for production to counsel or regulators as related to a legal matter or investigation.  Additionally, the LS Analyst will participate on project teams within IT and legal to represent the needs and issues of eDiscovery as systems are tested and implemented.

The person in this role requires full understanding of the EDRM, as well as ability to comprehend the capabilities and intricacies of various IT systems utilized at MetLife.  Attention to detail is critical as key data is secured and handed off to appropriate parties in a legally defensible fashion according to defined processes.  Strong communication skills are required for frequent interaction with vendor system engineers, IT system analysts, and attorneys.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, the ability to effectively juggle competing demands, prioritize appropriately, and oversee multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to coordinate project tasks that cross various business lines and corporate departments.
  • Track and provide delivery information to clients.
  • Provide regular daily\weekly project updates.
  • Provide timely and accurate feedback to client requests.
  • Perform final project activities, such as closing project documentation and archiving appropriate record

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or paralegal studies (paralegal certificate acceptable).
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills with a professional demeanor.
  • Proficiency in general office software applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.
  • Strong analytical skills necessary to assess software/hardware issues.
  • Ability to identify and prioritize e-Discovery issues to be addressed in order to best protect the Company from various risks.
  • Excellent customer service skills

 

Preferred:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in legal environment working with legal hold, preservation, and collection processes, and the associated interfacing with e-Discovery vendors and attorneys.
  • Experience at an electronic discovery provider.
