Lead Storage Capacity and Performance Analyst

Role Value Proposition: 

As part of the Capacity and Performance Operations team, the Lead Storage Analyst plays a critical role in ensuring storage availability, stability, and optimization for peak efficiency and cost containment. This role will also enhance and modernize the team’s storage reporting capabilities using a variety of tools and data sources.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide highly technical storage expertise by identifying, recommending, and planning storage performance and capacity configurations designed to meet strategic business objectives
  • Lead historical capacity trend analyses for large-scale migration efforts, identifying opportunities to increase efficiency, eliminate waste, and reduce risk
  • Partner with domain engineers to build appropriate end-to-end capacity plans and provide input into capacity forecasts
  • Establish performance and capacity baselines, thresholds, business metric models, and risk analyses
  • Provide best practice recommendations for storage management processes, configurations, and tooling
  • Develop capacity reports based on requirements from Operations, Engineering, and Lines of Business


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:



  • 7+ years proven experience in Enterprise Storage infrastructure management and support
  • Expert knowledge of Storage infrastructure; SAN, NAS, Brocade and Cisco switches, storage virtualization, replication, thin provisioning, storage pools, etc.
  • Solid understanding of Compute infrastructure; VMware, converged and hyperconverged, x86-based servers, and IBM Power equipment
  • Experience with popular server OSes (Linux, Windows Server, and AIX operating systems)
  • Proficiency in MS Excel with ability import data and create pivot tables/charts
  • Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills, with exceptional customer service orientation



  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline, or at least 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Experience with Dell/EMC storage platforms (VMAX, PowerMax, XIO, ECS), Brocade and Cisco switches, and backup infrastructure such as Data Domain and Rubrik
  • Knowledge of cloud storage technology and concepts
