Role Value Proposition: 

This position will be responsible for discovery, analysis, documentation, testing and project planning in the Actuarial, Risk and Treasury (ART) domain.


The successful candidate will be part of the application development team, with specific focus on developing Actuarial and Risk IT Solutions. In this role you will be responsible for working with stakeholders to analyze business needs, participate in designing optimal solutions, and author requirements documentation. In addition, they will perform data analysis, document and execute functional test cases.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform requirement gathering and identify, track, escalate, and resolve business systems issues
  • Assess, research, analyze, and document stakeholder needs, selecting the appropriate information gathering and/or modeling technique to elicit requirements
  • Develop detailed test cases, execute them, and share results with business and tech leaders for approval
  • Work jointly with developers to solution and provide cost and time estimates on fixes and enhancements
  • Develop system related procedures / manuals, and provides system training
  • Perform analysis and design of systems and hardware to maintain the production environments
  • Work with end users to determine business need / requirements for new / enhanced systems or applications
  • During planning, facilitate story estimation sessions with the developers and prioritize stories with key stakeholders
  • Throughout the execution of project, meet with development team members to answer questions, clarify requirements, and review / verify the implemented solution
  • Conduct formal reviews or showcase the new functionality to key stakeholders and obtain sign-off
  • Identify improvement opportunities (proactive and reactive)
  • Elicit and clearly document business and systems requirements
  • Assess business process and system inefficiencies
  • Identify ways to increase adoption and customer satisfaction
  • Demonstrated fluency in business processes and process differentiation
  • Ability to analyze and synthesize business requirements, including recognizing patterns and conceptualizing processes
  • Understand and negotiate needs and expectations of multiple stakeholders


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:


  • Bachelors degree in subjects such as Computer Science, Business Information Systems, Computing & Systems Development, Business Management and other similar disciplines
  • At least 5 years of experience as Product Owner or Business Systems Analyst in Financial Services industry relating to Insurance and Investments domains
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written. Capable of collaborating effectively across a variety of IT and Business groups, across regions, roles and able to interact effectively with all levels
  • Strong Excel and SQL skills in order to perform detailed data analysis and generate reports
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools such  as Power BI for creating analytics, virtualizations, presentations, dashboards, KPI etc.
  • At least 2 years of experience with Agile software development such as SCRUM or SAFe. Prior experience with Backlog Grooming, Sprint Planning, End User Demo and Retrospectives
  • Experience with managing Product Backlogs and creating Dashboards using tools such as JIRA, MS Azure DevOps/TFS etc.



  • Prior experience with Big Data and Cloud technology frameworks
  • Quantitative and analytic skills (advanced knowledge of Excel and/or Statistical programming packages)
  • Knowledge of Insurance domain specifically Actuarial Modeling
  • Knowledge of various financial instruments such as Bonds, Structured Finance, Derivatives, Loans etc.
  • Understanding of relational databases, reporting schemas, data transformations
