Role Value Proposition: 

We are looking for a motivated Business Systems Analyst to lead the development of functional requirements of the next generation Sales and Serving platforms at MetLife. These global platforms will lay the foundation for the overall digital strategy of the company.  

Key Responsibilities:

  • The Lead Business System Analyst is responsible for eliciting and documenting requirements for multiple projects of varying levels of complexity and scope.
  • Involved in translating business requirements into artifacts that assist in building software applications that meet program expectations.
  • Contribute through all phases of the software development life cycle to ensure business needs are met.
  • Partner with various stakeholders within and outside the organization and communicate effectively.
  • Review the requirement artifacts created by team members; provide feedback to ensure consistency and accuracy across multiple business processes.
  • Perform gap analysis for a process impacted by the project, participate and provide feedback/solutions on end to end review of business requirements and process maps. 
  • Works with Project Manager to ensure compliance to System Development Life Cycle (SDLC). 
  • Provides estimates for BSA work efforts on new projects and for on-going forecasting.
  • Coordinate with business partners, project team and IT on requirements tracking and traceability, and lead/facilitate meetings.
  • Manage, review and assess Change Requests for work stream impact analysis. Review and approve Use Cases/Functional Requirement Documents (as needed).
  • Support User Acceptance Testing, Operational Readiness Activities, and other duties as assigned or required.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration or other related field, or equivalent work experience. 
  • 7 to 10 years of related work experience.
  • Experience in the Insurance industry and knowledge of Investment products
  • Strong knowledge of data analysis, documenting business requirements, and mapping.
  • Exposure or experience working with tools similar to Blueprint v12, Quality Center, Sharepoint, MS Project and/or Clarity. 
  • Very good consulting and negotiation skills for gathering business intelligence and influencing partners.
  • An understanding of IT documents including Use Cases, FRDs, UAT scenarios, and Architecture with ability to define correlations/traceability to requirements, processes and testing documents.
  • Ability to communicate complex solutions clearly and effectively with management and project resources, both verbally and in writing.

Preferred:

  • Successful experience with mentoring peers and leadership opportunities.
  • Good leadership skills and highly organized.
  • Moderate knowledge of User Experience concepts.
  • Operate under minimal supervision, individually or as part of a team.
