As the Lead Business Systems and QA Analyst, you will provide expertise during customer engagement to deliver digital enabled solution designs to achieve a state-of-the-art digital experience for our US Group Benefits customers.  This position will collaborate closely with a diverse team of Project Mangers, Business Systems Analysts and Software Development Engineers to select and design the solution needed for internal and external US Group Benefits Business initiatives.  You will act as the primary consultant for eliciting stakeholder needs, investigating and clarifying stakeholder desires and recommending integration solutions that solve the underlying root cause and/or business opportunity to deliver value to our US Group Benefits Business.  You will be responsible for thought leadership, creative problem solving, cultivating and sustaining client relationships, provide appropriate escalation of issues and resolve escalated issues using solution knowledge and expertise in a complex environment.   As an independent, driven leader, you will ensure the integration is effectively and efficiently designed, produced and tested.  In addition, your responsibilities will include author detailed functional and non-functional business requirements / user stories /personas / journeys/KPIs/ mock-ups that map business strategy, customer demands, and technology delivery.  


Key Responsibilities:  

  • Acts as the primary liaison between business users and IT project team or with other IT project teams and our services integration IT development team. 

  • Collaborates with stakeholders to estimate, plan and coordinate functional design documentation efforts.  

  • Prepares for, conducts and confirms elicitation activities.  Resolves inconsistencies to gain consensus.  

  • Elicit requirements and create solutions to integrate internal systems or integrate with external platforms 

  • Create and document integration solutions and functional requirements using data mapping artifacts, Open API Spec. – author Swagger specifications for development teams 

  • Manages business user expectations and requirements scope.  

  • Creates traceability between requirements and solution designs to enable change management.  

  • Leads effort to organize, model and validate functional analysis and design documentation.  

  • Contributes to the development of user guides, reference manuals and training materials.  

  • Might lead a small team of business systems analysts or other resources.  

  • Mentor junior business systems analysts 


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related field 

  • 6+ years’ experience in Information technology 

  • 3+ years of experience in Finance information technology or equivalent 

  • 3+ years of experience creating use cases and data mapping for XML, JSON payloads with 1+ year doing either data modelling or creating API specifications or equivalent 

  • Possesses mastery level understanding of BA, QA/QC professional standards, business processes, workflows, methodologies and leading practices. 

  • Experience with test plan creation, automated test scripting, and load/stress testing. 

  • Must have in-depth knowledge of software development lifecycles including Agile development and testing. 

  • Demonstrated ability in applying repeatable quality assurance processes and methods to enterprise wide technology projects or initiatives. 

  • Strong management, communication, technical and remote collaboration skill are a must. 

  • Experience leading multiple BSA’s on large cross system, cross team initiatives  


  • Skills with data flow diagrams and data modelling (i.e. logical, physical) 

  • Background working with process modelling (i.e. UML, BPMN) 

  • Experience working with Agile tools (JIRA, AzureDevOp etc.) 

  • Service Oriented Architecture / SOA
