Role Value Proposition: 

IT Risk & Security Consultant / Lead BSA IAM will provide key subject matter expertise as it relates to Identity Governance and Administration and will be responsible for interacting with stakeholders outside of the IAM team to document and refine incoming requests for changes or enhancements to IAM Technology tools, ensuring those requests are appropriately understood and prioritized.


This position will act as the primary contact for evaluating new requests to the IAM Technology team. He/she will be responsible for communicating with external stakeholders to elicit and enhance requirements, representing those initial requirements in prioritization and planning discussions, and documenting high level technical design documentation as solutions are implemented. This individual must be a proven self-starter with the ability to problem-solve, communicate, participate in diverse project teams, and interact effectively with vendors, business stakeholders, and other IAM team members.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and actively qualify incoming requests for new functionality, or changes to existing functionality, and gather necessary details in order to recommend how best to prioritize work to be pursued
  • Gain an understanding of team responsibilities in order to provide guidance and feedback to stakeholders on whether a given request belongs with the IAM team, or within another organization
  • Along with the IAM technology leadership team, actively participate in and lead planning discussions and continually assess and effectively prioritize active work. That requires considering existing project commitments, while also advocating for stakeholder’s interests and external priorities
  • Provide clear and concise written and verbal communication across technical and non-technical stakeholders and project teams
  • Develop and define epics, stories, acceptance criteria, requirements (functional and non-functional), and solution documentation (e.g. training material, flowcharts, diagrams, solution overviews, etc.)
  • Actively participate in discussions to influence the future vision and direction of the technical IAM solutions at MetLife


Essential Business and Technical Skills:


  • 5+ years of experience in business analysis
  • 2+ years in an IAM role
  • Skilled in generating business requirements documents, project plans, roadmaps, and documentation
  • Highly motivated with ability to self-manage and work independently
  • Creative and effective problem solving and analytical skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline


  • Experience working in an Agile software delivery methodology
  • Familiarity with Atlassian products such as JIRA, Bamboo, Bitbucket etc.
  • Knowledge and familiarity with SailPoint IdentityIQ
