Role Value Proposition: 

The Japanese Service Delivery Liaison role is a critical role in MetLife’s Enterprise Operations organization, ensuring our Japanese business has a strong advocate to represent their interests and requirements in the delivery of our data center infrastructure services.  This position is responsible for facilitating the end-to-end delivery of infrastructure services and ensuring effective communication / coordination of service delivery activities, issue management and reporting of operational performance.  The ideal candidate for this position is someone that has a diverse IT background and understanding of IT infrastructure services with experience in operations management, project management and effective communication.

    

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight and coordination for day-to-day operations and delivery of infrastructure services, ensuring negotiated SLAs are being met.
  • Coordinate infrastructure deployment activities, ensuring application requirements and / or constraints are incorporated into deployment strategy.
  • Participate in change, incident and problem management processes, acting as an advocate for the business.
  • Provide point of escalation to the business to ensure needs are being met and incidents are being resolved in a timely manner.
  • Act as translator / interpreter between US teams and Japanese teams.

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • Must be bilingual (Japanese and English)
  • 5+ years of experience in IT operations
  • Broad knowledge and experience in data center infrastructure services (hosting, storage, network, voice database etc.)
  • Project management and / or vendor management experience
  • Must be able to work off-shift, on-call and some weekend hours as business need requires

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of ITIL processes
