Role Value Proposition: 

As a IT Security Service Consultant of Security Patch Management team, your objective is to operate and implement patch and vulnerability management methodologies using various automation toolsets. You will be the primary lead to manage the workstation patching focused consistently maintaining MetLife’s compliance standards, improving the process and governance model, and investigating outstanding vulnerabilities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform overall operational duties of the enterprise patch and vulnerability management solution and remediation processes.
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert for Windows Operating System security patching and identify improvements in the governance and operational procedures
  • Responsible for Windows workstation OS patching, troubleshooting errors and coordinating remediation involving Desktop Operations and Engineering teams
  • Vulnerability Identification (including awareness of current vulnerabilities and patches)
  • Ensure patches fully deployed and that all devices on the network are compliant with patching policies (including analysis and tracking of patch deployment, and partnership with IT to remediate vulnerabilities)
  • Investigate and respond to possible threats to Information Systems by analyzing results produced by security monitoring and vulnerability assessment tools.
  • Perform analysis to validate justifications for false positives, operational requirements, and risk adjustments
  • Communicate vulnerabilities, solutions, and enterprise trends to all levels of an enterprise – both technical and non-technical resources


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required Experience:

  • 4+ Years of experience in IT system admin role focused on Windows workstation patching, scripting, configuration management, and vulnerability remediation
  • 2+ years’ experience in performing system configuration management (PowerShell, Chef, etc.)
  • 2+ years’ experience with patch management tools (SCCM, Tanium, etc.)
  • Expert in complex remediation, troubleshooting patching issues, security testing of Windows workstations and risk mitigation


Preferred Experience:

  • Proven experience creating, implementing, and maintaining scripts for process automation, OS patching and remediation
  • Ability to provide explanations of complex technical procedures and processes clearly and accurately to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Global and enterprise experience deploying to >60K workstations across all regions in the world (APAC, EMEA, LatAm, AMRS)
  • Ability to organize and analyze large amounts of data using Excel, PowerBI, and other tools
  • Certification related to IT system administration is preferred
  • Strong understanding of common OS vulnerabilities, patching, and attack patterns.
  • Strong communication skills
