Business Continuity Ransomware Lead

Role Value Proposition: 

This position is responsible for co-leading an initiative to develop, integrate and provide ongoing support of the MetLife global ransomware preparedness and recovery framework.  The role will drive collaboration between operational resiliency groups across the organization and external entities to incorporate ransomware readiness and recovery framework into steady state operations, posturing MetLife with the capability to quickly recover and minimize business disruptions following a ransomware attack.  The position reports into the Director of Disaster Recovery with management reporting oversight into the VP of Global Business Continuity.

    

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Drive operational readinesswith groups across the organization (eg. Crisis Management, Cyber Security, IT Service Operations, Incident Management, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery, etc.) and external entities to integrate ransomwear prepardness and recovery framework into all relevant prgram workstreams.
  2. Support ransomware readiness and recovery framework development, integration, and steady state operations; including awareness, training, templates, tools, plans, playbooks, testing, exercising, policy, audit, regulatory, governance, status and compliance reporting.
  3. Build strong working relationships with global stakeholders to co-create value and promote continuous improvement for MetLife’s state of ransomware readiness and recovery.
  4. Provide consultation and 24/7 support for global ransomware events.

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  1. Minimum 10+ years general experience, with 5+ years’ experience in a business continuity, disaster recovery discipline
  2. Strong project management experience
  3. BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
  4. Certification with Business Continuity Institute (BCI), Disaster Recovery Institute (DRI), EU-Council, ISO or equivalent education and experience
  5. Expert in coordination of Business Continuity exercises and Disaster Recovery tests for individual applications as well as data centers; includes setting scope, project planning, defining objectives, conducting test planning meetings, review of test plans, test implementation, issue tracking/resolution, status updates and test reporting.
  6. Knowledge of Data Center technology and experience testing multiple IT infrastructure platform types and technologies.
  7. Knowledge of National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Cyber security framework
  8. Extensive knowledge of data management, including replication and backup technologies
  9. Experience with incident response and incident management

 

Preferred:

  1. Experience providing input, maintaining, and building response plans incorporating ransomware recovery
  2. Expertise in ISO 22301 and other international BC / DR standards
  3. Understanding of Change Management process and systems (e.g., ServiceNow)
  4. Familiarity with FFIEC standards
  5. Proficient in MS Office suite including Project and Visio
  6. Strong communication skills and experience leading and participating in global matrix teams
  7. Familiarity with Business Continuity Exercising and parallels to Disaster Recovery Testing incorporating personal computer recovery.
  8. Experience with Business Continuity Management / Risk Management Systems (e.g., Fusion and Archer)
