We are seeking a IT Operational Risk Consultant reporting to the Head of Information Technology Operational Risk Management (ORM).  The IT Operational Risk Consultant will be responsible for providing 2nd line of defense risk advisory and oversight of global technology and cybersecurity

risks.  Specifically, he/she will partner closely with the Global Technology organization and other risk and control assurance functions to ensure appropriate risk coverage, governance, and reporting.  The successful candidate will help drive adoption and ongoing adherence to the 2nd line of defense ORM framework designed to enable effective risk identification, assessment, oversight, and escalation.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Serve as a technology risk advisor to key stakeholders in the 1st and 2nd lines of defense
  • Assist with enabling adoption of the 2nd line ORM framework within Global Technology
  • Support ORM programs including Non-Financial Risk Assessments (NFRA), Risk Event Collection and Reporting, Key Risk Indicators, and Issue Management
  • Support the facilitation of Non-Financial Risk Assessments (NFRAs) and synthesis of risk materials for purposes of reporting to senior leaders
  • Work with 1st line of defense to provide guidance and effective challenge in identification and management of its operational risks, advising on and overseeing remediation plans
  • Partner with technology leaders to ensure effective IT metrics, thresholds, and escalation processes
  • Participate in cross-functional strategic projects providing risk advisory support
  • Lead and participate in deep dive risk reviews of technology business processes
  • Foster relationships with 1st line management and other risk and control partners (information security, business resiliency, etc.)
  • Remain current with industry operational risk trends, emerging risks, and regulatory areas of focus


Business Experience and Technical Skills:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Risk Management, or other related discipline, or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years of experience in any of the following fields: IT, Information Security, Infrastructure
  • Strong knowledge of IT security, technology controls and processes, cybersecurity, and cloud.
  • Understanding of industry IT risk and control frameworks (e.g., NIST, COBIT, ISO, UDF)
  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to perform root-cause analysis
    • Proactive, intellectually curious, operate with a sense of urgency
    • Ability to develop strong business relationships, partner and coordinate in a cross-functional environment
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare and conduct presentations
    • Competency in quantitative and story-telling platforms used for executive presentations



    • Professional designation (e.g., CISSP, CISM, CISA, CERA, etc.) and/or desire to obtain such certifications
    • Audit or Operational Risk experience is a plus
