The Global Infrastructure and Technology Operations (GITO) Finance Manager position is a key role within the Global Technology & Operations (GTO) Finance Department supporting the GITO Organization Globally (+$800M, +1,250 employees).  The Finance Manager will be responsible for a number of accounting and financial activities, including but not limited to ensuring the accuracy of balance sheet and accounting entries, reporting and analysis of financial results and forecasts, supporting the development, presentation and approval of Project Financials (Project Approval Requests – PARs) including validation of NPV and IRR calculation.  As a valued contributor, this individual will spend a significant portion of time ensuring our Global Technology partners are in compliance with accounting policies and procedures and in producing; analyzing and synthesizing financial information in order to make recommendations to senior management on financial risks and opportunities.  

 

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Partners with Global Technology and GITO teams in the development of monthly forecasts, annual budgets and resource rates.
  • Manages month end close including the management and validation of accruals and Journal Entries, Prepaid SW files, Balance Sheet entries and certifications.
  • Partners with the Global Procurement team in the review of contracts and validation of possible financial impacts.
  • Participates in Global Infrastructure and Technology Operations (GITO) monthly financial reviews and weekly PAR reviews.
  • Collects data and uses financial systems to conduct performance analyses and makes recommendations and presents results.
  • Identifies and tracks cost reduction opportunities.

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • 5 + years of financial analysis experience in finance-related assignments in a public or private company environment.   At least 2-3 years leading people/projects and providing advice on finance applications and/or systems
  • Understanding of Corporate Accounting Policies and their application to Balance Sheet and P/L reporting within MetLife Technology Organization
  • Strong understanding of financial reporting practices, principles and strong understanding of project management techniques and ability to monitor progress against objectives
  • Demonstrate distinctive problem solving and analytical skills
  • Show business maturity, have strong presence and possess good written and verbal communication skills
  • Influential leadership skills and the ability to synthesize large amounts of data into clear concise communications and/or data visualizations
  • Strong Excel and database management skills; Proficient with querying data from multiple tables and source systems

 

Preferred:

  • BA/BS, preferably in Finance or Accounting, MBA/MS
  • Technology financial experience in the financial services industry
  • Experience with Peoplesoft and Oracle-based applications preferred
