Role Value Proposition: 

We are seeking a dynamic individual for a global, strategic leadership role that will execute MetLife’s global transformation in digital and mobile space, and accelerate customer centricity initiatives. Security Technology & Solutions (STS) engineering is responsible for managing the enterprise wide strategy for identifying, developing, and implementing technical security solutions to enhance MetLife’s control environment. Additionally, STS engineering is responsible for reviewing proposed solution architectures to identify risks and to recommend appropriate actions. The Director of STS Engineering will be an adaptable, pragmatic, and positive professional, who is comfortable in delivering clear and concise information at both a technical and managerial level.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Work with information security leadership to develop strategies and plans to enforce security requirements and address identified risks.
  • Establish collaborative working relationships with the businesses, functions, and regions to ensure that security solutions align with MetLife’s security architecture and business strategy.
  • Manage the program for developing and implementing security solutions, including but not limited to: access management, cryptography, data loss prevention (DLP), emerging technologies (i.e., cloud, mobile, etc.), endpoint security, malware analysis and protection, incident response, network and perimeter security, or web and mobile application security.
  • Provide security consulting services internally to the engineering organization by giving guidance and functioning as an information security SME.
  • Manage the development of MetLife’s infrastructure security architecture including standards and configurations.


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:


  • 10+ years of experience in one or more of the following information security domains: access management, cryptography, data loss prevention (DLP), emerging technologies (i.e., cloud, mobile, etc.), endpoint security, incident response, malware analysis and protection, network and perimeter security, or web and mobile application security.
  • 10+ years IT Security Engineering experience working in an enterprise infrastructure or security architecture environment.
  • Must possess working knowledge of various industry security standards and frameworks including: ISO 27001, ISF Standard of Good Practice (SoGP), NIST Special Publications, etc.
  • 5+ years of management experience with strong people and project management skills.



  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  • Professional certifications such as: CISSP, CISA, CISM, GIAC, CGEIT, CRISC, CEH, or other relevant industry certification strongly preferred. 
  • Professional Services experience with big 4 firm
