Role Value Proposition: 

This role drives effectiveness of the organization.  Develop excellence in program and project management via standards, training, reporting and monitoring across all teams within DnA DataSTAR (BA, Factory and Operations).  Support with standardized reporting for portfolio, financials, resource and demand management.  Manage Policy, Compliance, Risk, Legal, and Security.

 

This function establishes, implements, maintains, and monitors program and project management methodologies & governance to ensure alignment and standardization within the IT organizations. Defines and develops project management practices, governance standards, processes and metrics. Establishes, implements, maintains and monitors processes to ensure alignment with MetLife and industry best practices. Direct people management responsibilities.

    

Key Responsibilities:

  • Communicates with IT leadership, business leadership and IT Business Consultants to communicate portfolio and/or program strategy, direction and changes.
  • Provides oversight for delivering all projects contained in the IT project portfolio on time, within budget and meeting the strategic and business requirements.
  • Partners with senior leadership to identify and prioritize opportunities for utilizing IT to achieve the goals of the enterprise.
  • Champions and influences DnA DataSTAR’s use of established processes, methodologies & tools.
  • Directs, motivates, and develops project staff. Identifies and addresses training and development needs.
  • Responsible for monthly financial management and administrative activities

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or other related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 10+ years of IT and business/industry work experience, with at least 5 years managing projects and/or project portfolios.
  • Minimum 5 years management experience
  • Possess extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of portfolio or project management methodologies and tools, resource management practices and change management techniques.

 

Preferred:

  • Deep technical expertise in one or more areas within Big Data, Data Warehousing/Business Intelligence, Application Development, Database Administration, ETL, Advanced Analytic systems.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams through technical and/or organizational change.
  • PMP, ITIL certification
