Role Value Proposition: 

The Director of Solutions Engineering is a critical role within the Data & Analytics (DNA) organization, positioned at the intersection of MetLife’s data strategy and the overall enterprise and business strategies.  The increased velocity of today’s dynamic markets requires both agility and focus.  Business strategies evolve over time and often include new efforts to compete/differentiate in market.  This position will work to ensure tight interlock between evolving business strategies supporting the digital experience and the enterprise data strategy, to ensure that we can maximize the value of our data assets to measure, promote and enhance our efforts.  This role will work closely with both the digital product team and the entirety of the DNA organization to plan and execute the strategies, explore new possibilities, and accelerate a data-driven culture. 

    

Key Responsibilities:  

  • Responsible for the development of line level data strategies integrated with the business’s digital strategy
  • Work with business partners and DnA leads to agree on data requirements, ensure requirements are clearly communicated and validate DnA design and delivery meet those requirements
  • Participate in delivering data roadmaps supporting digital strategy
  • Oversee overall delivery of the data solution and work with portfolio leads to communicate progress and ensure we execute against business objectives
  • Coordinate data solutions to improve the digital experience for MetLife’s customers
  • Engage with customers to understand needs and requirements, then communicate those needs and requirements across Data & Analytics (DNA) organization
  • Portfolio and demand management responsibilities to ensure priorities are appropriately set and teams are engaged to deliver committed data and analytics capabilities
  • Work directly with DNA leaders to prioritize the backlog and ensure design and delivery of innovative DNA solutions
  • Enhance data acumen and acceptance within lines of business, leading to the creation of self-service functions including but not limited to Business Intelligence, Analytics

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

 

Required

  • 7+ years’ experience and knowledge of improving customer experience, data administration, process engineering, data management and quality, governance 
  • Senior technical product manager with a track record of creating innovative Data and Business Intelligence solutions
  • Proven ability to navigate complex stakeholders across all levels of the organization and cultivate strong partnerships
  • Thought leadership skills and experience in translating greenfield ideas into productionized solutions

Preferred

  • Experience in delivering digital transformational programs
  • Experience in delivery transformational programs in the insurance industry
  • Advanced ability to communicate complex topics clearly and succinctly, both verbally and visually, to senior management
  • Successful data strategy/culture transformation in a large enterprise
  • Proficiency working in Agile Delivery Model using MS Azure DevOps
