Role Value Proposition: 

The Director of Strategy and Planning will be a key member of the Global Infrastructure Services strategy team responsible for planning, reporting and delivering the business aligned strategic roadmap for the global international infrastructure service. The Director of Strategy will lead annual financial and portfolio planning activities while defining and executing relevant governance to drive strategic initiatives. With a strong focus on operational excellence, the director will work with the strategy team and global subject matter experts to monitor our performance to assure our strategies are appropriate to enable MetLife’s vision to be the leading global life insurance and employee benefits company.

 

A highly visible role and part of a central team for the Office of Senior Vice President Global infrastructure Services; this position is a key part of the team driving major change globally.  The successful individual coordinates and responds to all internal and external requests and acts as proxy for matters of specific organizational importance.  The position interacts with MetLife Executive Group, Global Technology and Operations Executive Leadership Team, and many other senior leaders across the organization   

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Assist the AVP head of strategy for Global Infrastructure and all departmental executives to develop, monitor and continually update long term information technology strategies and annual plans.
  • Facilitate recurring department internal meetings and assure action plans are fully developed and assigned to the appropriate departmental executives.
  • Create monthly, quarterly and annual briefing packages and presentations for GTO and Business Unit executives.
  • Position assures that the value delivered by each international infrastructure department is aligned to maximize synergies and enterprise leverage.
  • Manage and monitor Infrastructure integration financial budgets. Drive accountability and transparency in the management of all mergers and divestiture programs. Regular performance and strategic reporting to executive management with high visibility and broad impact to the profitability of MetLife business units. 

 

 

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills

Required:

  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills; Organization, presentation and customer service skills.
  • Self-directed and highly motivated; Ability to manage multiple priorities; Ability to work and influence peers, team members and senior management
  • Demonstrable experience interacting with executive management;
  • Demand and Portfolio management with strong Project management and coordination skills;

 

 

Preferred:

  • Degree in Business, Computer Science, or Information Systems.  
  • 6 or more years’ experience that includes analysis, development, and execution of strategies within a complex organization or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous experience in an IT infrastructure technical / Service Management / Portfolio management position
